Smiling Wicca is our Tuesday feature in “Adopt-A-Less-Adoptable-Pet Week”. It’s hard to resist the smiling face of this senior Australian Blue Heeler! Wicca is up-to-date on veterinary care and is currently available for adoption at Pet Adoption Alternative in Warren, Michigan (PAAW).
Wicca is eight years old and deaf. She loves to play ball and gets along with other dogs and cats, too! She also knows some hand signals. Wicca is microchipped, and her adoption fee is $150. To meet Wicca for adoption, you can fill out an adoption application at PAAW’s website.
Meet Linus! He’s already a pretty lucky guy, as he was rescued from a kill shelter in Iowa hours before he was scheduled for euthanasia. Linus is featured for “Adopt-A-Less-Adoptable-Pet Week“, because he is deaf and will need someone who can make time to learn about how to communicate with him.
Here’s the stats on Linus from his Petfinder.com page:
- Name: Linus
- Gender: Male
- Age: 1-2 years
- Dog friendly: Only female dogs (and not small dogs)
- Cat friendly: No
- Kid friendly: Yes (but not with children smaller than he is)
He is an American Bulldog and Boxer mix located at Secondhand Hounds in Edina, Minnesota, and needs an adopter who can handle his energy and behavior issues. According to his foster family, Linus likes to destroy toys, has food aggression with other dogs, and knows how to open doors to kennels, as well as screen doors. You can read the full story from his foster family on Linus’ Petfinder page.
Linus really needs a special home that can help to train him and rehabilitate him, and make sure he doesn’t end up at another kill shelter. He needs a home with an open mind and structure that can help him realize there are boundaries. He is young, so there is hope that he is not already set in his ways, and there is still time for him to mature.
