Michael Vick Visits Congress Today

Michael Vick, quarterback for the Philadelphia Eagles and previous dogfighter, spoke to Congress today with a plea to furnish legislation that would penalize those who watch dogfights and bring minors with them.

Vick was joined by Wayne Pacelle of the Humane Society of the United States.

According to CNN.com, Pacelle stated:

Spectators are participants and accomplices who enable the crime of animal fighting, provide a large share of the funding for the criminal enterprise through their admission fees and gambling wagers, and help conceal handlers and organizers who try to blend into the crowd when a bust occurs.

What do you think of Vick’s plea and being joined by Wayne Pacelle? Have an opinion? Take our poll, and feel free to start a respectful discussion in the comments.
