For those living in Phoenix, Arizona, the National Canine Cancer and Make a Wish of Arizona’s fundraising event, Paws for a Wish, is happening this weekend at the PERA Club. An email from the National Canine Cancer Foundation outlines the events in detail:
We are looking forward to a great event Paws For A Wish this weekend January 20-22nd in Phoenix, AZ. We hope everyone in the Phoenix area will come out to the event. There is no admission fee, its very family friendly and people can bring their dogs to have fun and enjoy some of the events open to public for your dogs.
NCCF’s “Lure for a Cure” will be out there and is fun for all dogs and their owners alike! This is a lot of fun where dogs chase a lure through a course with turns and jumps and it’s all timed! Here is an example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1hy_PWxaDoQ
Also open to all is Splash Dogs! This is where the dogs run down a dock and jump into a pool to see who jumps farthest. It is a great time for dogs.
And if you have a herding breed of dog you can test their herding instinct with certified herding instructors. They have brought sheep for the dogs to see.
We will also have an AKC Agility Sanctioned Event beginning daily at 8 AM, it’s completely sold out!!
There will also be a Sanctioned Flyball competition.
Of course there will be vendors, rescues, a huge raffle, KOOL 94.5 will be on site Saturday and Sunday, and we have Phoenix food trucks coming out! T-Licious, Pizza People AZ, Mikes Kitchen and BBQ, and Luncha Libre.
Paws For A Wish will be held at the Pera Club, 1 E Continental Dr, Tempe, AZ 85281 CLICK HERE for a map of the location.
For those of you who can make it to the event, Sara and myself, two of the founders of the NCCF, will be out there enjoying the fun and we hope to see as many of our Phoenix supporters as possible!
For all of our supporters throughout the country. You can still support Paws For A Wish by making a donation to our special Paws For A Wish fund raising page at http://www.wearethecure.org/friends/pawsforawish And we can really use your donation no matter where you live to make this event a great success and a great start to 2012.
